Decks, porches, and stairs. We clean the wood, sand the rough spots, and use stains that hold up to Upstate sun, rain, and foot traffic. Rails and stairs get the same care as the floor.
Deck boards take the most abuse of any wood on the property: sun, standing water, and feet. We use a penetrating stain that wears down slowly rather than a film that peels in sheets, and we stain boards, stairs, and rails as one color so the deck ages together. Greyed or peeling decks are restoration first: wash, sand what needs it, then stain. That is still a deck staining job, not a rebuild.

Superior Stain Solutions did a fabulous job including pressure washing our 2 covered porches days before applying the stain several days later. They completed both porches in one day that included removing the gutters in the process. I love the color I selected as shown with the before and after photos.
