How you get a number
Send the details. We send a flat-rate quote.
The form below gets you a real number, usually within one business day. Length, height, wood condition, the look you want. We include a wash when the wood is aged or greyed. Fence-only jobs can also use the fence staining estimate for Greenville and Spartanburg.
What to send:
- Fence style, height, and linear feet
- Deck or pergola square footage
- New wood or aged and greyed (adds a wash)
- The look you want, and how much grain to show
- Water and power on site
What can change the number
The form quote is built from the same details we ask in the yard, but a few things move the final price: a different stain brand than our standard, special requests, and location. Tell us if the job site has no power or water. No power usually means a generator, about $100. The written quote you sign is the price.

Questions
Pricing questions.
How much does it cost to stain a fence?
It depends on length, height, whether we stain one side or both, the condition of the wood, and access to water and power. Rather than guess at a range, we look at your fence and give you one flat number in writing. Estimates are free.
How much does deck staining cost?
Square footage, rails, stairs, and how much prep the wood needs are what move the number. A deck that just needs a wash and a maintenance coat is a smaller job than one with a peeling old finish that has to come off. We quote after we see it, and the number is flat-rate and in writing.
How long should I wait to stain a new fence?
Stain as soon as the moisture is right. After mill oils dry out, wood starts to crack, twist, grey, and mold. We check with a moisture meter. Below 13% is ready for oil-based stain.
Do I need to clean my fence before staining?
If it has started to grey, weather, or mold, yes. We soft-wash aged wood before stain so the finish lasts. The wash is in the quote, not sprung on you later.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are SC licensed and carry liability insurance. A certificate of insurance is available on request. License RBS 66117.
